Our success is dependent on having the support of our stakeholders. Who they are can vary between projects and they reside both within and external to our organisation.  But every day, we engage with them. The question is – do we engage in a way that maximises the engagement and which shows our capabilities positively?

In our business environment we have a wide range of stakeholders. Our supervisors (right up to the CEO), shareholders, staff, clients, potential clients, colleagues, industry groups, community groups and so on. 

Some stakeholders are interested only in knowing what is happening, whereas others have influence on our work and can make decisions which impact the success of our responsibilities.

Understanding who your stakeholders are, and what role they play in your projects is a strong first step to achieving success.
